Humanising Future Healthcare in a Meaningful Way
Healthcare innovation is evolving fast — from AI patient monitoring to robotic assistants — but these advances can feel abstract or even intimidating. NSW Health needed a compelling way to help audiences visualise a future where cutting-edge technology supports more compassionate care.
A Cinematic, Story-Led 3D Animation
Alex Dann Media collaborated with NSW Health to produce a flagship animated film that explored the future of nursing. Built using Unreal Engine and Metahuman, the animation brought a grounded, emotional lens to futuristic technology — focusing on a day in the life of a nurse supported by digital tools, AI, and automation.
Rather than presenting abstract concepts, the animation grounded innovation in recognisable clinical environments. Nurses used electronic tablets, robots assisted with hygiene and logistics, and AI supported observation — making the future feel both advanced and accessible.
The film premiered at SXSW Sydney’s “Stories of the Future” showcase and is now embedded on the NSW Health site and shared internally for training, policy, and recruitment. Its cinematic tone and futuristic narrative gave NSW Health a standout piece of communication that aligned with their vision.
